Colour: Deep bright ruby with slight crimson edge. Nose: Open upfront with pepper, plum and dark berry fragrances layered with savoury and spice aromas. Palate: Smooth ripe plum and mild pepper flavours with a hint of spice. Firm, but smooth tannins and a pleasant long aftertaste. Overall: Pinotage / Shiraz is characterized by intense pepper and plummy fruit flavours, yet round, smooth and deliciously easy drinking.
Vineyard Notes
Wine of origin: Western Cape Varietals: Pinotage 60% Shiraz 40% In the vineyard: The grapes are sourced from lowyielding, vines with the focus on quality fruit and maximum flavour potential.
Production Notes
When making this wine we set out to combine
fruit flavours with soft, dry tannins. The grapes
are harvested, crushed, then the juice is
fermented on the skins until dry with two
aerations per day. After malolactic
fermentation the wine is racked and bottled.
